Silent classic - presented with a live score! In 1928, emerging starlet Dolores del Rio took the nation by storm when she starred in Edwin Carewe’s silent film adaptation of RAMONA, Helen Hunt Jackson’s beloved tale of romance in Old California. Over the years, copies of the movie disappeared, and this important piece of film history was thought to be lost forever. Then, in 2010, a single print was discovered in a film archive in the Czech Republic. The film has been restored and preserved by the Library of Congress, and the intertitles were translated back into English. OC Film Fiesta is proud to take you back to 1928 and present the OC Premiere of this lost classic - with a new original score written and performed live by award-winning composers Joseph Julian Gonzalez and David Spear! THE THIRD MAN - 4K Restoration

NRNot Rated

Regarded as one of the greatest British films ever, Carol Reed’s 1949 masterpiece THE THIRD MAN stars Orson Welles as the enigmatic Harry Lime, a Cold War profiteer making writer Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) chase shadows in postwar Vienna. Written by Graham Greene, this cinematic tour de force shows the influence of Welles as a director on Reed in every scene, and allows Welles as an actor to shine in a nuanced and memorable performance as part of an ensemble cast that includes Trevor Howard, Wilfred Hyde White, Alida Valli, Paul Hörbiger and Ernst Deutsch. Restored and remastered by Rialto Pictures!

Saturday 10, October

TOUCH OF EVIL

PG-13

The stories behind Orson Welles’ 1958 noir masterpiece TOUCH OF EVIL are almost as amazing as the film itself - and that’s saying a lot! After the studio heads recut his film to make it more conventional, Welles issued a 58-page memo noting detailed changes on how to restore it. It was ignored. 40 years later, editor Walter Murch and producer Rick Schmidlin restored the film and the sound mix as close to Welles notes as possible using a preview print rediscovered in 1976 - and we are excited to present this vision to our audiences!

Touch of Evil stars Orson Welles as Hank Quinlan, a sinister police captain who locks horns with Charlton Heston (playing Mexican cop Mike Vargas) in this tale of power and corruption in a gritty bordertown. Also starring Janet Leigh, Marlene Dietrich and a gritty cast of cops and crooks.

Presented by OC Film Fiesta! This special screening will present the classic in English with Spanish subtitles.
