Born to Be Blue

Ethan Hawke portrays jazz legend Chet Baker, whose tumultuous life is thrillingly reimagined with wit, verve, and style to burn. In the 1950s, Baker was one of the most famous trumpeters in the world, renowned as both a pioneer of the West Coast jazz scene and an icon of cool. By the 1960s, he was all but washed up, his career and personal life in shambles due to years of heroin addiction.

My Big Night

My Big Night

The backstage preparations for a New Year’s Eve TV spectacular become a flashpoint for comic mayhem in MY BIG NIGHT (MI GRAN NOCHE), a frenetic brew with touches of Fellini, Altman and Almodóvar, building steadily toward a finale that’s a grand collapse into utter chaos. From the bad boy of Spanish cinema, director Alex de la Iglesia (“Witching & Bitching,” “The Last Circus”), MY BIG NIGHT is a black and wicked comedy, with stand out musical numbers, and stars the iconic Spanish singer Raphael, Spain’s contemporary go-to sexy leading man Mario Casas, Blanca Suarez, Hugo Silva and a large ensemble cast.

The Clan

The Clan

Boldy directed in a gripping and visually cinematic style by Argentinian auteur filmmaker Pablo Trapero (“Carancho”, “White Elephant”), THE CLAN (EL CLAN) tells the true story of a middle-class family pulled into a world of kidnapping, ransom and murder by the family’s patriarch. Set in the early 1980s just after the collapse of the brutal military dictatorship, the central character is Arquimedes Puccio (Guillermo Francella), long a beneficiary of the regime. He switches his focus from making political dissidents disappear to the kidnapping of wealthy targets as a way to keep his family well taken care of, with horrifying and pathological results.
